For years, Stone & his associates have courted & elevated violent extremists & re-branded them as “patriots.”

This is Part 2 of a series that documents with photographic evidence the political activities of Roger Stone and his closest associates, as well as their relationship to the Proud Boys, including former Proud Boys national chairman Enrique Tarrio, his right-hand man Joe Biggs (formerly an InfoWars reporter), and Ethan Nordean (another leader in the organization). Tarrio, Biggs, and Nordean have all been indicted on conspiracy charges relating to the January 6 breach of the Capitol (Tarrio as recently as last week). You can read the latest superseding indicment here.

Stone has complained that the media is trying to blame him for the breach of the Capitol merely because he “knows” Tarrio, which he dismisses as “guilt by association.”

But Stone didn’t just “know” Tarrio. He also employed him as a volunteer and gave him access to his cell phone, home, and social media account. Stone also hired the Proud Boys organization as his personal security force, took their oath, and provoked them with unfounded claims and talk of civil war, even as the group grew increasingly violent and joined arms with unabashed white nationalists in terrorizing US cities. On December 11, 2020, he rallied alongside Tarrio, Biggs, and Nordean, as reported by Just Security.

If the Proud Boys were a circus, Stone (and his “mini me” Jacob Engels) would be considered their ringmaster. I have not analyzed Stone’s potential legal liability for the Proud Boys’ actions on January 6. But he’s morally guilty as hell.
